Is it possible that a 16s can be a 24 series?

Hello! I’ve been looking for the 16S caviar chevron blue mini with silver hardware for a while now and always thought it was supposed to be a 22 series but came across this beauty that’s a 24 series. I do know that Chanel came out with a darker blue right afterwards but is it possible that this is still from 16S? Of not, which season is it? I really want the bright cobalt blue but it’s always hard to tell the true color in pics!

Hi, this one is not 16S because 16SS cobalt blue was only released in square. This rectangular one should be 17S if I remember correctly and the colour is a bit different from 16SS.

The 16SS blue is 22508***

Hello and thank you for your response - maybe I got my seasons mixed up then because I know this comes in the rectangular since I’ve been searching for it for years. I have this bag in the M/L size so the color is what I’m after. Did they make this exact color in the rectangular in a 24 series then?

I guess I didn’t realize that the square was the only bright cobalt blue mini they made. Just how different are the blue colors then because it’s really hard to tell in the photos and I really want the rectangular one but I want that bright blue color…

Hi! Yes, they made this bright cobalt blue in 16SS in both square minis and ML flaps, but not rectangular mini. The only minis they offered in that season were chevron squares ( red, blue and black ) and the same 3 colours in ML chevrons.

The rectangular mini in your photo came 1 year after 16SS and it’s not the same bright cobalt blue as 16SS...the colour was darker shade blue.

16SS actually offered the BEST true red ( even more stunning than 12A imho ) and BEST cobalt blue.

Hi! Hope you don’t mind me adding one more opinion to this thread. Since you are looking for this specific blue rectangular chevron mini from 17SS, be sure to check the leather when you see one.

I had a 17SS rectangular chevron in forest green but ended up returning it because of peeling of caviar leather. And later on, many people reported on TPF that they had the same issue with their 17S chevron caviar minis.

From my own experience, the caviar was like a thin layer of paint that peeled very easily.

I’ll never forget that square mini. I passed on it and kick myself to this day.

Ali Pollack has a chevron blue mini for sale as well on IG. Looks like 16S. Alitana13.
