I would like to know if it is normal in Epsom leather that the grains gets darken? I noticed, my one year old birkin in gold color the grains has dark/black spot all over my bag and it is very visible. I’ve used it only for less than 5 times and I stored it the dust bag. I wonder if it is normal or it has something to do with my usage or storing. Thanks in advance.

My Birkin from 2019 is black so I can't answer about the spots but mine developed slight veining last year. I'm surprised being a stamped leather. Sorry about your spots and I hope someone can answer that for you and that maybe an artisan can clean them.

Could you post a picture as that may help others to advise?

This is normal in my experience with epsom particular light colours
Its happened to a few of my bags particularly around the handle/sangles
I don't understand why it happens but its not dirt in my opinion as its happened to some bags before I have even used them
I asked someone who is very experience with Hermes leathers when I first noticed it happening to my bags and he said its normal

Thanks for the information. If this is normal, I just have to deal with it then. Too bad that i haven’t read or seen similar reviews beforehand. I can’t imagine if it’s in whiter shades.

I first noticed it on my K25 in June poussin and I was really worried. Even now it does bother me if I inspect the bag but its not noticeable at all when actually wearing the bag. I also notice its on certain parts of the bag more prominently and less prominent on the actual body of the bag. After seeing it on JP and hearing its normal I checked all my other epsom bags and its happened tohappen to some degree on most of my epsom bags including some Ive never used so I agree its not dirt. None of my bags are heavily used and I store them all in a room which is air conditioned and the correct humidity.
