Hello everyone. I bought a pair of Oxford shoes in Paris and upon returning home (I live in the US) I unboxed and inspected the shoes one more time before taking off hardware film. I noticed there are tiny cracks that I didn’t notice those at the stores. So now I waited that those might crack even more and peel off with time. Since I haven’t worn them I was thinking maybe I can exchange them at store here in the US for same model or other spouse or store credit. Has anyone ever tried to return or exchange something bought in Paris at their local store in different country? Also would you keep the shoes if you saw something like these? These cracks are not visible if you look from above, only if you look straight at them. I just concern that it will be cracking more and eventually start to peel offIMG_2863.jpegIMG_2866.jpegIMG_2867.jpeg

Brand new and unworn, I'd definitely go back and exchange.

Though I can see that happening overtime from wear, especially if they hit/scuffed against something.
They are unworn. Actually when I was trying on at store I tried different pair, and before paying I noticed a little bit of glue where leather connect to outsole and I asked if they have another pair. So a SA brought this pair and I checked if it doesn’t have glue on it, but didn’t notice this crack. Also I’m not sure if my home store can get same shoes in my size. It looks like they rarely have anything in my size. That’s why I was exited to shop at flagship store in Paris. And there is a price difference between US and France. So I’m hesitate even ask if refund for a store credit possible. To me it looks like white color coating is going to crack and peel off even around thread holes which I wouldn’t expect from Hermes

You can ask your SA if there is anyway they can fix it for you (if you don’t mind and your SA confirms that it can be done). I have seen online that someone went back to H after the leather has a cut from kicking something. H managed to fix it and made it look brand new for a small fee.

I had the experience of purchasing a faulty item and went back to get it fixed for free. It was brand new.
