Hello dear fellow Chanel lovers!

I couldn’t find a thread on vanity case so started this new thread, I am really sorry if there is a previous one.

I am looking to buy a pre loved Chanel Filigree Vanity case Small size, but it’s selling at USD $2900 with full complete set and in 9/10 condition.

May I know is it worth the price to buy a vanity case as it’s not a classic piece but a seasonal piece, wanted to make a decision as I heard even pre loved stores are going to increase their prices for Chanel products in sync with Chanel boutique.

I would greatly appreciate your help and advices and thank you so much in advance!❤️

Is it something you can return? I was absolutely head over heels in love with this bag... until I tried it on. It was too boxy and stuck out on my hip. Definitely recommend trying on if you can because it is such a particular shape.

That said, I do think they hold value fairly well, so if you are not bothered its definitely not a bad idea!

I have it in yellow and I love the way it looks! The mini is the best looking size in this style imo. Only thing is it's not easiest bag to use. The zip is kinda annoying to get in and out of

Do you like it a lot? I have the medium and love it -- whether or not it holds its value is of zero concern to me. I personally choose my bags based on the styles I love, how much I'll use them, etc. -- not based on if it will be out of style 5 years from now or how much it may or may not be resold for. Some would tell you to get a classic flap instead, but for me personally, the classic flaps are not my style. I do have a reissue 2.55, but the vanity case is much more "me" so I bought that instead of the classic flap, and I've never regretted my decision. The vanity case in general is a classic style that Chanel has brought back many times over the years in different forms, it has a great vintage look to it, and I do think it holds its value pretty well if that's something you're concerned about. It can also hold quite a bit for a small/mid-size bag, and I love the fact that it is a bit less common than the flaps -- makes it more unique to me.

$2900 seems like a pretty good deal to me for a small in that great condition, but it is probably a good idea to try one on first if at all possible or have the option to return if you change your mind. The cross body chain on the original small was too long for me (altho this is a pretty simple fix) and some don't like the boxy shape. The small is less boxy than the M/L, though. I think if you really love it you should go for it -- there are quite a few people on this forum & online who have and love their vanities.

I own the medium and I love mine! I love being able to carry it multiple ways. It was perfect crossbody for me as I’m 5’0. It was worth it for me because even though it’s a smaller bag it can fit a ton. Probably my most functional Chanel besides my Chanel backpack. (The only other bags I own are mini and jumbo flap)

The Chanel Vanity has been in demand since its debut. That said, I think you should consider what to buy based on how you feel about it and if you will use it. Resale value is not something I think about when I buy a bag, simply because I buy my bags to use them. I have a large navy Vanity, and I adore it! It holds a lot and looks chic, without being too delicate. If you have never held/tried on a Vanity bag in person, I would only buy if it's returnable. In my experience, you can never quite tell how you'll feel about a bag until you try it. There are many bags that I love from afar, but didn't love in person.

The size in your picture is the most functional size and overall it's one of the most functional Chanel bags. It's more comfortable to wear than the classic flaps, much lighter, and has a leather piece at the top of the strap. Also the way the bag is divided on the inside makes it easy to organize and use.

Noticed nobody mentioned phones.
I've always like the vanity case style and this seems perfect as you need not hold your bag together while trying to get things out of it (eg. vintage vanity)

But I held back. Firstly the medium would be too big for my height. Secondly, the small cannot fit my phone.
As much as I would like to be a spoilt bray and change my phone just to get the vanity, I don't have another phone model that would suit my work. Hence, I have another CF in my collection now.
