Is Birkin in swift too much of burden?

So I'm back to neutrals - grays are beautiful I love how swift absorbs and shows off the color. But I wonder if it won't be too annoying to baby in a non perfect weather. I also thought about madam leather - I don't own anything in madam yet but I like the description. (is it very different then epsom)
I fell out of love with Togo. Epsom is the obvious choice then, it's ok but I'm just tempted to try another one.

Swift takes color beautifully and takes a beating. Here’s a vintage gold B30 swift, bought for a song at resale during Covid SIP. (Next to my noir barenia B30. It had seriously darkened handles and some discoloration. Thanks to @docride, like new.

Also, an older thread re swift leathers performance in rain :)

I have a swift Constance 24 in natural sable, GHW. I don't wear it everyday but I bought it in 2016 from my Hermes store. It still looks brand new. The first time I used it, a raindrop landed on it. I just gently wiped it away and it dried beautifully!!! No rain scars what-so-ever. Even though many think epsom is "Water proof" it is not. It can withstand a very light rain if wiped down, but if it gets saturated for a long period of time, epsom can "bubble." I have an epsom 30 B in cactus and am careful not to venture out with it on a rainy day, unless all of my errands are indoors. I always keep a soft cloth in it to wipe down any unexpected sprinkles. One of my friends left a water bottle that was sweating in her bag and it completely ruined her epsom wallet. She hadn't noticed it until the end of the day. It had basically been leaning against the plastic water bottle for hours.

I love my 2010 Swift B35. It is still holding up very well. I will get a photo of it later this week. That bag is never babied.

I have a few other B25s, K25s, C24, KCs and KPs in Swift. I love Swift and many of the limited edition (nowadays blue box) items come in Swift. I personally don’t find it delicate. And I don’t mind a little bit of slouch. But I don’t think any of my smaller bags have that issue.

I love swift but it scuffs. I have a kelly and the area where the strap hooks rubs against the handle has scuffed after 2 years.. Scuffed swift is not a pretty sight. For a bag in heavy rotation l think l would avoid swift. Swift can handle rain no problem

No, here’s my swift Birkin that was from the spring 2015 collection which I bought 2nd hand. Still looks great. My new Chanel lambskin bag, however, extremely delicate and has many scratches after 1 wear. I don’t have that issue with my swift Birkin.

I had to do a double take on the thread bc I was expecting a slouch on a well loved swift Birkin but yours is pristine! You could’ve told me it was straight from the boutique and I wouldn’t even question it.

@diyas1 - can I ask if this is bleu lin? If so, I am blue with envy because I love bleu lin! What a beautiful Birkin and shade of blue! Everyone, sorry to sidetrack the conversation! Back to the topic - swift is a lovely and resilient leather.
