Well, I don't know if I am a DG, but I am by the sea and this morning on the beach wore a Sonia Rykiel straw hat, ecru silk cami, sterling silver Superman pendant necklace, beach bag and vintage, panel-cut asymmetric Plein Sud, mid-blue denim skirt, beige canvas (Trussardi) beach bag and trainers (sneakers).
I pretty much think this is a very typical beach look for many woman and every Summer, so can you define makes the Dolphin Girl different from the typical?

I found these on Pint. It seems a bit 'obvious' and fairly typical Summer stuff, just blue and white. Blue, washed-out, cotton, matte and summery
Love it. I am too old lol, but I did buy a mop* shell necklace (not VCA) 
However, I have not figured out how to wear it

We live at the beach in LA and are from Hawaii. The Dolphin Girl Aesthetic is how the middle, high school or young adults dress on the West Side in LA. Only tourists or old dudes wear shell necklaces here. The girls and women who live on the west side beaches don’t wear shell necklaces unless it is VCA mother of pearl.Love it. I have to confess that I adore a simple shell necklace and much prefer it to VCA mother of pearl. I find VCA a little bit overdone.
Yes, I agree with you there. That is why the kids are wearing Momma’s VCA🤣. I don’t know if you watch any of the Real Housewives shows, but Shannon Beador of Orange County ruined it for us VCA Alhambra lovers.
ha ha - no I dont watch it, but some ladies (like yourself) wear VCA beautifully and is part of ones aesthetic. But just like birkins and Kellys (and we are not about to stop using those
) IG and social media killed it with fakes and over the top displays. In the 'dolphin girl' context, I just prefer very simple almost DIY style shell jewellery and not too much of it either. if its really hot beach weather heavy jewellery looks out of place and makes one feel even hotter, not in a good way..
Brandi Melville is the clothing store that does Dolphin Girl chic better than anyone. They did Dolphin Girl before the term was coined.
