Is a dark silver metallic reissue too bling for daytime?

Hi ladies,

I am smitten by a metallic reissue in a dark silver - is this too bling for daytime wear? My sister and I love it, but DH thinks it may be a little too loud (bless, what does he know?!)

Are metallics, as my husband believes, for evening wear only? Or is that assumption way out of date? What you you think?

The one I adore is a distressed metallic finish - should I be afraid? Is the distressed metallic fragile and better suited for simply admiring rather than carrying?

I just ordered my first metallic bag today, a bronze 226 reissue. I definitely plan on wearing it during the day, but not everyday. I also hope that with reasonable care the bag will look good for a long time.

I have the 2007 Dark Silver Reissue 227, have worn it casual and dressy, works well both ways, and by the way, its as pristine as when I first bought it. My favorite Chanel Bag.

Got my 08A DS reissue 226 a month or so ago and been wearing her day and night! She's a real cameleon!

I picked up an 11A 226 light gold reissue not so long ago.

I have carried her mostly for the evening, but this is because of the smaller size and all my endless daily belongings just dont fit in a 226 size. If I had this metallic bag in 227 I wouldn't have any hesitations to wear her day or night. I LOVE the metallic reissues, they seem universal.
