Hi all,

So I found some posts from around 2015 on this forum about people recommending ironing their Chanel bags to remove creasing from their bags. I also saw someone remove dents from their quilts. I think they used a silk setting on their irons and used the steam function (with a 100% cotton cloth in between the bag and iron and also stuffing the bag itself).

Who has done this before? Anyone that can help me with the technique? Is it just steaming the part with the crease or also applying pressure? And if so how to you hold it? Lay it flat?

I got my Chanel single flap Jumbo (2009) refurbished a while back and they did a GREAT job on the tears.. but it still has some creasing. It is looking a bit deflated because of it.. it's mostly the part above the bottom corners that bothers me and makes it look unstructured. The leather does not fold nicely inside on the side. And my dad pinched it a few times to pick it up, which created a big ol thumb print in the quilt.

Looking at my bag, is there anyone that can tell me if these dents and creases can be removed by this method? ?

Hey darling, I had great luck using an iron through brown paper on my Gucci marmont flap wrinkling. I actually found that it did flatten the quilts slightly, so I ended up buying a small heat gun and ever so patiently passing the gun over the wrinkling until it was flawless.

Yes! There's been many threads in the past of people trying the iron/steamer /hairdryer method . I used to be very active from 2012-2015 and then I went away when my son was born since my priorities changed and I needed to resist temptation to buy more Chanel purses.

This method definitely works. I can't find the ones where people posted before and after photos. I know there was one that did that. The results were amazing. I mainly saw people do it to their lambskin bags but people have been successful with caviar too:
