Yes I've seen both the one with the cover and without and they just didn't work for me. With the cover one you had to open it to use the phone which looked stupid. The one with no cover was definitely an improvement but still doesn't allow good enough access to the entire screen. I put my phone in both and just didn't like the feel. That's just me though - others may feel differently.

Oops!! I just replied about the iPhone cases and realized you were asking a out the iPad case - sorry. I'll leave the comment there anyway just on case it helps someone.

Although I wanted to love the iPad case, it didn't appear to be very functional. I wanted it to prop itself up so my son could watch movies! I ended up picking up one from Saddleback Leather.

I know exactly what you mean. They look pretty but aren't very functional - that's what I found with the iPhone cases too. Too bad.

I have the Michael Kors Jet set case in python for the ipad 1. It's the only designer case I've found that is fully functional. It's stands up and zips up to keep anything from messing up the iPad. However, one design flaw would be that the zipper was somehow pressed up against the iPad corner and has left three zipper indentation, I have solved this problem by using a bumper around the iPad while it's in the MK case. Absolutely love it, it's functional, fabulous and fashionable.
