I filled out an app yesterday and got a call back today. The girl who took my application told me to dress the part and wear the employee dress code. I think I have something together (black crew neck sweater and gray pants). I also have black flats (not Coach).

Should I be totally worried about not having Coach shoes? The list she gave me specifically says to wear Coach flats. I don't have the money to go out and buy any, if I can even find any locally. I also have 2 bags. One is a bronzy color with gold hardware and one is black horse and carriage print with silver hardware. I also have a red leather crossbody.

What should I expect? Should I carry a Coach bag? I really want to get this job. I've applied 3 times before within the past few years and this is my first callback.

I think a lot depends on how strict your store manager is. I've talked to my fav SAs at the Coach retail who now have to wear uniform and shoes and it kind of depends - but it does have to be Coach so one of them opted for a pair of nice Coach boots instead of flats. Why don't you be upfront about it and ask them if they can wait until you are hired or maybe give you a loaner? As for the bag, it might be a good idea to wear Coach for the interview.

Does your instructions tell you to leave the clothing in the store when you go home? My SA says they have to change into uniform at the store and are not allowed to wear them home. Things may be more flexible at the outlets.

The red bag sounds like it would go good with your outfit. I wouldn't worry about coach shoes at this point, sounds like there isn't much you can do about it. I would make up for it with your impressive knowledge about their bags and history! [emoji12] good luck! I will be anxious to hear more after your interview!

The list she gave me only specified Coach shoes. I have a pair of patent black flats that honestly look like most of the Coach flats I've seen, they just don't say Coach. When I filled out the app, the one girl looked like she legit just rolled out of bed and the other girl was wearing a Michael Kors top so I don't think they're that strict on the uniform as long as it's the colors they like.

From everything I looked up, it seems like the outlet interview is a lot easier and more straight forward than the interview for the Boutique store.

Definitely carry a Coach bag, and your outfit sounds very appropriate. The black horse and carriage sounds good, and also the red if it is Coach.

You can always buy Coach shoes with your first paycheck.

Good luck, I am sure you will do well.

I don't know where you are but I think that in some states it is against the law for an employer to require you to wear their brand in order to work there.

I think you can wear any brand of shoes. It sounds like your outfit is perfect for the interview. I think it is more important to be dressed at the appropriate level of professionalism, rather than in the specific colors, for the interview. An employer doesn't normally expect someone to buy specific clothes for an interview.

Good luck on your interview!

HI~~
I have talked with an ASM at one of my outlets. I was interested in a job there and asked about a pair of Black Tooled Danskos that I have. ASM told me that I didn't have to wear Coach shoes..(Coach shoes are cute but too flat for me..) Non Coach shoes must always be plain Black. If you have Coach shoes, they can be any color and style.

Congrats on the interview and Good Luck!!!!

Lynne :D

Well it was a group interview. I was the only one that was dressed appropriately (IMO anyway) and get this...the only one carrying Coach!!! If I didn't have a Coach bag, I don't think I would have carried one in at all, especially a competitors bag (the other girl had a Kate Spade).
I think I got the job. The girl didn't really say yes or no, she just said after backgrounds come back, she will call. She's also going to check references. My old boss told me to use him and he said I would get any job I wanted [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]
It's seasonal so I'm not quitting my full time job yet. If I have an opportunity to work there full time, I might.
I'm super excited! I was the only one that said I loved the brand and actually knew how it started!
