Alexander Wang Inspired by the Rockie?

I love Zara, although some of their products could have better quality. Anyway, while browsing their site I saw this bag

I know designers get inspired by other designs. While subtle influences are nice but this ... I don't know what to think of it

I don't like it. The strap isn't even long enough to be used as a shoulder bag.

I saw that RM has a very blatant Rockie/Rocco inspired bag now also...I guess since she didn't put the studs on the bottom she thinks that makes it ok? I'm an RM fan for her original styles but get really turned off seeing stuff like this from her...

And she also named the new TPF 'collaboration' bag Darcy despite numerous posters pointing out that there was already an AW bag with that name

I noticed RM has a bag that is a pretty blatant copy of the Hermes Birkin design, think it's called 'Jane' (hello Jane Birkin!) I liked her earlier designs but not these 'inspired' pieces.

I have seen studs on other designers'bags, Balmain's for instance.
So who knows who started?

IMO it is one thing to take an idea as an inspiration and run with it as a creative springboard. It is entirely another to blatantly copy someone else's work to the degree that it is instantly recognizable as such. Can you say Michael Kors and Steve Madden? They are shameless. Looks like they are going to have to make room for RM if this trend keeps up.
