Maybe I'm late to notice this, but one day I came across a Mario Valentino bag that looked just like the Gucci soho line! Instead of interlocking Gs there is a V. I mean, seriously?? To make matters worse, these bags still retail in the hundreds.

For example: https://www.nordstromrack.com/brands/Valentino By Mario Valentino

Now that I'm scrolling down the page I'm seeing Gucci swing, Celine, Givenchy, and Chanel "inspired" bags too.

Even the name  'Valentino' my a$$, I can hardly believe that these bags were ever on sale for the full price. Even on line I can see they're poorly made :nogood: Gucci is a bargain in comparison!

The bags are very derivative but then it was always the same with bags, the high street is full of 'inspired' copies too. At least these are leather I guess

I saw these on BeyondtheRack before and they are all copies of other designer's bags, as Wudge said.

I don't even think the founder's name is Mario Valentino. They probably made it up to "pretend" to be a designer brand, so that people who may have heard of the name Valentino (but don't know much about the brand) would think these are Valentino bags.

I believe there was a designer named Mario Valentino who started in the 50s and passed away in the 90s. Guessing the line was sold to a conglomerate who decided to capitalize on the name similarities and sell derivatives of other designers.
