My dad passed away on November 21st. I found a little wooden box with my name on it. Inside was my great grandmother's, grandmother's, and mother's diamonds from each of their engagement rings. I want to have another ring made, but I have NO design skills whatsoever. I want to have some sort of idea before I go to the jewelers. Each of the diamonds is a different size. I've googled so many times looking for something, but it seems like everything is a 3-stone ring (which I don't want to do with different sized stones).

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated...

i'm sorry to hear about your dad passing...

what about 3 separate stacking rings in bezel settings? I think it's very sweet and a nice way of cherishing your dad's memory to make a piece of jewellery with family diamonds.

First of all, I am so sorry for your loss! I was in a similar situation to you last year with three different sized stones from a trinity necklace my husband gifted me that I didn't care for. The lovely ladies here on TPF helped me design this set of three stacking rings….. Love them and wear them every day!

Thank you for your kind words.

I didn't even think about stackable rings. I will definitely put that on the options list!

I too am very sorry to hear about the passing of your father.
What a sweet story! Gosh that is something very few people can say. That they have a diamonds back that many generations! Very touching. I hope you have someone that will appreciate the tradition when that time comes to pass them on.
The ring/rings you show are lovely. Also like the 3 stacking ring idea.
Have nothing to contribute on ideas. Just want to tell you what a touching story you have.

Your dad had such a lovely idea, so sorry you have lost him recently.

You could make a diamond chain necklace with the three different sized stones randomly spaced to showcase their differences. Or a diamond chain bracelet.

Really love the stacked rings. So pretty!

How about making three different bezel pendants? That way you have the option to wear them all together on a chain, or on two/three different chains at different lengths.

Slightly confused here. You say you want a ring, but not a 3 stone ring, but any ring you make will have the three stones?

you could do a stacking thing with two on the bottom horizontal and one nested between them on top, all bezel.

I like the stacking rings idea. you could do one in YG, one in RG and one in PT or WG, that would be fun too.

I'm very sorry for your loss. It is so hard to lose a parent.

I'm so sorry for your loss. Your father left you something absolutely beautiful.

I'm with the other ladies - the stackable rings are a great idea but if you want something a bit more, how about something similar to the Stefano Canturi Metro ring?

If not, a diamond by the yard type chain would also be stunning.

Also, try googling Art Deco style rings. Many have several sized stones.

Good luck in your search and decision.

This is exactly the ring I was thinking about...would be the perfect ring for your diamonds, OP. Would look stunning in YG, too and would keep the "look" of your original ring, an updated version.
Sorry to hear about your Dad...............................

So very sorry about the passing of your dad. But how touching and beautiful of him to have left you this legacy of diamonds -- a really loving gesture.

I love the suggestion of stacker rings! A modern, elegant look. Here are a couple images just to give you more ideas…they are antiques and have more of a cocktail or dinner ring-ish look, but it's another pretty way to incorporate 3 differently sized stones.

Sorry for your loss. I like everyone's ideas.

As said, stacking bezel set rings...
You could wear them stacked together in a DBTY style like that chef... Her name starts with a G... Giada? You can make one nexklace and make it look like its three by having them all meet at the clasps so they would never tangle.

Two of the diamonds look to be the same size... You could make an everyday set with the two smaller stones as studs.... Maybe add a diamond halo? And the bigger one as a solitare ring.
