What do you do when you purchase an inexpensive dress that is too long? Do you pay to get it hemmed, do it yourself or leave it?

Bought this dress from lulus.com on sale for $25. It's way too long(at my knees) and I'm not sure what to do about it. It'll mostly be a dress I wear out on the weekends to a club or bar with friends so I want it to be shorter.

Um, is this a trick question?

Regardless of whether something is $25 or $250, if it doesn't suit your needs then you either (a) don't buy it or (b) get it hemmed or fixed or altered. If you sew yourself, why not, if you can't you should get someone else to do it. I just purchased a $15 skirt on sale. I love it but it was too long. I paid more than $15 to have it shortened. But why not, I love it and am going to wear it, if it's too long will just sit in the wardrobe. Easy decision!
