Hi all! I'm really torn between the SW 5050s and the Reserves. I know that Reserves has a bit more heel than the 5050 and honestly, I could use the heel help for my 5'2 height. But I would like to use this for travel i.e walking around a lot, very much a lot. I am not sure if the sales lady was pushing for sales, but she told me that the Reserves are better than 5050s for walking all day (They only have Reserves left in my size). I would really appreciate if anyone can tell me if the Reserves are really comfortable for walking all day and if/how you could fold the Nappa leather pair into your luggage. I can't seem to find many reviews on Reserves.

Thanks in advance!!

I’m joining you in this thread awaiting advice! Thanks for creating this. :P My feet don’t do well with high heels but they don’t do well with shoes that are too flat either.

I think I’ll end up going with the Reserves because they aren’t too high and they’re not little thin heels. I’m 5’4 and while I don’t need the extra height, I don’t mind making my legs look even longer. I think that’s why she recommended those (they should be really comfortable) but at the same time, she really could have been trying to make a sale. Personally I don’t think you can go wrong with either but the 5050 might be better if you’re going to be walking everywhere and for endless hours.

Thanks Fae! I have purchased both pairs to really try it out at home, with the full intention of returning one. I'm only getting the Reserves Leather later on today but I have the 5050s Suede with me now and for some reason, it makes me look a little squat with certain types of jeans and outfits. I'm praying the Reserves will make my heart sing more when I get them later. Though I am now concerned about the leather because when I tried 5050 Leather at the other shop, it bunches up badly at my ankles. Because I am purchasing this in Hong Kong, the price is definitely not the best and while it's not crazy expensive, it's not really cheap either. So I am concerned about this purchase decision since it's at a 'premium'.

Btw, I asked the sales lady again when I was making payment and she told me both 5050s and Reserves felt the same to her. But she did walk around NYC all day (snowing) in Suede Reserves with no problem at all. She also told me that Nappa Leather tends to scrunch up more and that the Suede is more fitting and slimming on the legs (without the sheen) and that Suede is the more popular choice due to that reason. In terms of snow and rain for suede, she recommended to purchase a Suede protector and spray on it every season when you are using it. I'm not sure if her advice will help you make a more informed decision but I hope it does.:smile::smile:

Thank you so much for passing the info! I personally love suede more because it does look better imo. I did notice it has a more slimming effect, probably because it tends to be darker and matte. I was actually thinking of going with leather since that would be much easier to care for but now... you have me reconsidering. I do want to look my best. My legs are on the slimmer end so I definitely don’t want them scrunching up or sliding down. :panic:

Also if you haven’t, buy those boot shapers from amazon or something! They really help keep the boots in shape. I’m using them for a pair of suede boots and leather.

Ladies, I’m in bit of a dilemma between 5050 and reserve. SW has reserves at 25% off currently; this doesn’t include 5050. I usually wear 7 and actually bought and returned 6.5. I took them wore and wore around the house and noticed few things -
1) Reserves seemed a bit tight around the ankle as in restricted mobility but not pain. I was told this wouldn’t really stretch cuz it’s ankle area.
2) the sole area right under the foot of ankle seemed to be hard and stiff. I also noticed the sole of new model of reserve doesn’t say “stuart Weitzman “. It actually had horizontal lines on sole and under the heel it says “5050”. I’m hesitant cuz I want the shoe to be comfy and easy for walking and commuting in subways etc.
Has anyone experienced discomfort with their reserves or 5050? Thoughts?
