Hi, folks,

I purchased the below bag less than a year ago, and the leather on the handle is peeling in 2 places. It’s clearly not because I rubbed against something, because one of the places is the very top of the handle.

Online Client Services has agreed to recolor the leather and waive the repair fee as a “one-time courtesy.” I’m not satisfied with this, because the fact that it happened in 2 places to me indicates that the materials are faulty and will happen again. I would like a refund or store credit.

I now have the option of going to a boutique for an evaluation, but this would mean taking time off work because the repair folks are available only on weekdays. If you have an appointment for an in-store repair evaluation, can you talk directly to the repair folks or do you simply drop your bag off and wait 2 weeks for an assessment? If you speak to them directly, sounds like it would be worth the effort to go in person.

Thanks for the input!

Apologies for posting about this again, but has anyone had an issue with hard leather handles peeling? I have had no problems with my bags from the Ophidia line, but the GG small tote that I have (hard brown leather handle similar to the 1955 line) is peeling in 2 places (one of which is on the top of the handle, so it can't be from rubbing against something). I was offered a repair to "recolor the leather" with the fee waived this first time [emphasis mine], but I fear it may be the material used on the bag itself and will inevitable happen again. I'm wondering how strongly I should advocate for a refund or store credit for another bag. The bag in question and the pictures of the circled damage are Damage to Front Handle_CIRCLED.jpgDamage to Top Handle_2_CIRCLED.jpgbelow. Thank you for your input!

The top of the handles can be polished to minimise the appearance of the scratches, no problem. Things like that are only to be expected.

Not sure what's happened to the front of the handle, I would think they would have to take off the finish to refinish.

Thanks for merging my related threads and for the input on the handle. I've never hard a hard leather like that, so I didn't realize that there were such easy fixes to take care of the imperfections that cropped up.

hello everyone, I was have some question regarding Gucci after sales. I was purchase gg marmont mini at 2018, but after Covid and pregnancy. I was starting wearing this bag three days ago, but side and bottom of this bag leather was peeling off. I was buy Dionysus around 2019, put them in the bag storage cover with dust free bag and Gucci box. The Dionysus was no issue at all.

After I contacted client, the client tells I need to pay almost $500 to repair my gg marmont. I was think this is manufacturing issue but they were saying is not. And I tell them I would like to replace a new one but they refuse. I was really frustrated. And have no ideal. This gg marmont has lots of issue, after I buy this bag I find out the leather strap has lose stitch, so I went back to the store, lucky the sales guy who sale the bag to me at store, and help me replace a new one. After I bring it to home, I storage it until this year.

Here compare
