Last week, having some jobs to do in a school in my area, when I arrived in the morning and went to the secretary office, I noticed a few - and I mean quite a few - MK bags in a corner of her office, in a box, and a couple of them on a chair. I couldn't step out of the office without asking about them so... I asked her. Most of them were having their handles wrapped in some plastic so I knew something was fishy. She told me somebody is selling them but of course they're not fakes because she can spot a fake from a mile away and those were authentic. :D
Then she started telling me how this lady has also luxurious perfumes, and those are also authentic of course because she knows perfumes so well, and she could tell those were genuine. :graucho:
So, a few hours later, when I was done with my duty there, I went again to her office to ask her more details such as to show me some MKs and their authenticity tag.. She wasn't there but the lady who was covering for her told me oh sure, here they are, so I grabbed a nice small, black Selma and opened it. Horror to me eyes, the lining was a white and black striped satin, the brand tag was a metallic plaque not on the interior pocket, and there was no made in country label whatsoever (I searched for it). When she saw me looking exactly for the tags, the lady told me 'but you know they're knock-offs, right? They're only $65!'

And besides the few MK bags there were plenty of others. The lady showed me a nice, cheap Chanel she just bought, a Gucci and a few other beauties. Well, beauties my a$$!!

Now, should I report this somewhere? Should I just forget about it? What do you all thnk?

Oh, WOW!! Did you say that someone is selling these at a school? I would talk to the principal & let them know that the bags being sold on school property are counterfeit & violate copyright & trademark laws. If they don't stop the sales & confiscate the illegal items, you will contact the police & report the illegal sales of counterfeit handbags & perfumes. Some people are just stupid. At least the second woman in the office admitted the bags were knock offs.

Right. Or else I would've told right to her face those are fakes. I even asked her why did she buy that Chanel if she knew it's not authentic. She said 'but it looks so nice! And you can't beat the price!' Right... but it will crack and fade and look like a cheap sh..t it is. Plus it's illegal.

Now, about talking to the principal... maybe calling anonymously? I still need to go there sometimes and I don't want to make enemies... yet.

Then I would make an anonymous call to the police & report the counterfeit sales being held at the school. They would know who reported them since they're selling them at the school. Then if you have to go back there for whatever reason, you can feign innocence.

Right. There were other women coming and going with either a bag or a piece of paper with a phone number, so I guess anybody could make that phone call. I'll do it for sure. Hopefully they won't call me back to confront them or something. :smile1:

Just make sure you tell them you want to make the report anonymously because you don't want any trouble. LOL

Wow. What next - fake Scotch whisky, fake Barbies, fake medicines? :nogood:

You're right!

And even the perfumes. I had the opportunity to get a counterfeit one. A friend gave it to me as a gift and I was so surprised that it had a regular bottle with only a printed label but it smelled so authentic. Guess what? After only a few months it turned into a yellow-idh color and the scent was horrible. But that's what happens with all 'duplicates' as some of them are called.

Counterfeiters will fake any & everything to make money. And some people are dumb enough to buy that crap thinking they're saving money, getting the same quality for less, or that they're actually the real thing. I don't understand why someone would buy something of inferior quality just to get a look. In fact, if someone is patient, they can find a pre loved genuine MK that's in good shape on Ebay for about the same amount of money.
