Kate Spade I'm not sure about the quality of the bag

Hello,
Got myself a Kate spade bag yesterday because this was on sale-it's called the 'Swing flora medium handbag in parchment' but the leather handles seem softer and a lot more fragile than my other bags and I don't want to damage it. The leather is pebbled but with my other bags it seems a lot tougher. Is it meant to be like this or should I try to get a refund at the outlet?

I would definitely return if you are unhappy with the bag. Outlet bags can be hit or miss in quality
