I'm about to purchase an MK Uptown Astor off ebay but I feel like it's insane. I've loved the Uptown Astor for some time now but haven't taken the plunge.

I told my DH about it half hoping he would tell me I was nuts and have enough purses, but no - he actually tells me it looks like a great price for a nice purse and to get it if I want it. OK, maybe he's the one that's nuts. :laugh:

I still have 2 MK's I haven't used yet - the yellow Jet Set (waiting for summer and by the looks of things I could be waiting a while!) and that lovely bronze Edie I bought at the PCE a couple of weeks ago.

Should I buy another one or do I need an intervention?

I think part of the reason I'm hesitant too is because the last MK bag I bought on ebay I was kind of disappointed in, as a matter of fact I recently sold it. You know the red studded Astor? The leather just never really did it for me - it was a dept. store bag (could tell by the lining) and it was definetely a cheaped down version of the boutique bags. While the Uptown Astor I'm looking at is definetely a boutique bag, I guess I'm a little afraid of being disappointed in it again.

Crissy: I have an Uptown Astor Satchel and I love it!!!! It's dark brown with gold studs. I get more compliments on that bag! Personally I think you should get it if you really like it and have always wanted one. They are stunning bags!
What color is the one you are looking at? Does it look like it's the thicker leather?
I know how it is to be disappointed, but I don't think you can go wrong with this bag.
I completely understand what you mean about the Red Studded Astor, there was something about the shade of Red that did nothing for me. I think it just fell flat.
As for having 2 bags you haven't used yet, I wouldn't let that sway your decision. Like you, I'm really doubting that summer will ever be here! But the Yellow with get it's day in the "sun" and the Bronze Eddie you can use year around.

Chrissy you will love the uptown astor. I have the black with gold studs in a satchel and with all the bags I own, this is still my all time favorite. There is a difference between just the astor and the uptown astor-the uptown astor has bigger, bolder studs, that really make the bag stand out. (just my opinion). It's a great bag-go for it!

Its not insane at all! I think I own just about every MK bag out there and many in multiple colors! I have the Uptown Astor shoulder bag in Lapis, Teak, Luggage and Black! They are amazing bags! Im sure you'll love it!

Well the Uptown Astor is on it's way to me. I've been eyeing it on ebay for a couple of months at least, maybe more.

It was a customer return and listed as "EUC". The seller posted tons of pics and I communicated with her a lot about the condition and the worst of it seems to be some wear on the handles - otherwise it looks stunning inside and out. I got it for $165 plus shipping. I thought when am I ever going to get my hands on an Uptown Astor for that price - NEVER - not in Canada.

Here is one of the seller's pics. At that price I can live with a bit of wear, I'm thinking this will be my go-to bag. It's gunmetal with silver hardware. The only thing that kind of made me hesitate is that I have a Coach Julia hobo that I adore in gunmetal. I hope the colors aren't too similar.

It doesn't seem like there are too many of these around anymore either, so figured now is the time.

It's bigger than what I normally carry by a lot, but there is something about this bag that has always drawn me in.
