Have you ever tried to sell a bag you bought and never used?
The resale value for the majority of brands are just horrible. While there are always exceptions, Dooney, Coach, Marc Jacobs, Michael Kors, Fossil, Kate Spade, and Guess for example, can be difficult to sell and even more difficult to sell if the asking price is anywhere near what you paid.
There are thousands of bags competing for buyers across selling platforms and many listings end with no interest. Logical price points don't mean much when it comes to selling bags on the second hand market because the valuation model is rarely in favor of the seller.
I cringe when I see people buying deeply discounted fabric signature bags from outlet stores, you know, the ones that sell for less than sixty dollars, have really poor stitching, and eventually disintegrate? It amazes me to see people trying to resell these cheapo bags that have virtually no value and little buyer interest. From experience, I have learned to consider the following.
Make certain you want the bag.
Make certain you can afford the bag.
Make certain you are going to use the bag as you intended.
Return the bag immediately if you have any feelings of buyer's remorse.
Try to avoid having to resell the bag because you never used it or suddenly don't want it.
