Just for fun....I was thinking about handbag and jewelry brand rough equivalents. Some of my thoughts:

Graff = Hermes - very exclusive, iykyk, prides itself on the utmost handmade quality, hard to get

Cartier = Chanel - the OG Parisian chic, many who first wade into luxury have as their HG, "average layperson" thinks of Chanel classic and Love bangle as the ultimate in luxury

Tiffany = Louis Vuitton - always coming up with new designs and interesting collaborations, Tiffany silver is the "gateway" for collectors like LV canvas, very ubiquitous and most duped

Bluenile = Mansur Gavriel - the first major online disruptor selling basic, unbranded but quality classic pieces

Mejuri = Polene - mostly online, design-forward quality and affordable pieces, the ones that many DTC companies are trying to copy

Costco = Longchamp - Costco diamonds are the Longchamp Pliage...practical, dependable quality at a good price, your workhorse piece

What do you think? What are others...like "who" is Bulgari (Fendi)? Or Chopard (Ferragamo)? Maria Tash = Off White or Jacquemus?

I’ll play :) what a great idea for a thread

To me, Verdura is chanel. Because coco chanel was friends with Fulco di Verdura and wore his cuffs daily. Verdura owns the original coco cuffs, to the dismay of chanel.

Van cleef & Arpels is Hermes. Bc the zip necklace is the first attempt to use a zipper inspiration. This necklace is the epitome of VCA. The Hermes bolide was the first bag ever to use a zipper closure. And the vintage curved VCA watch reminds me of the curves of the chaine d’ancre

Cartier and courreges bc as you say, OG chic. The love bracelet and the courreges RTW classics remind me of the aesthetic of the 60’s and 70’s.

Buccellati reminds me of LV. The Buccellati motif bangles are instantly recognizable just as the LV logo.

Vhernier is sleek and modern. It reminds me of Narciso Rodriguez.

my favorite Suzanne Belperron reminds me of azzedine alaia. Bellperron fitted earrings, necklaces, bracelets, and rings individually to her clients and was obsessive about detail. Yet, her creations weren’t fussy. There was an underlying aesthetic that was unique to her.

Pascual Bruni and Zimmerman or Dior for the love of all that is floral and feminine. . .

Seaman Schepps - Norman Norell. . . Bc of their sculptural shapes

David web — dolce &gabbana. For their over the top, animal driven motifs.

These are magnificent pairings and so spot on. What are your thoughts on Dior and Fendi jewelry equivalent.

I love this thread idea and I’m going to say :
Fendi is Bulgari. Bold and fun yet serious statement pieces.

Maria Tash is Mansur Garviel- both nice quality but entry level prices.

Blue Nile is a hard one. It’s equivalent to Harrods department store and it has various price points.

I think Fendi is Bulgari too :) great minds!
Maria Tash is see by Stella McCartney
Blue Nile. Based on your description above is Polo/Ralph Lauren (clean cut, classic. Diff price points)
Pascuale bruni is dior or Zimmerman

ETA: one could also say Pierre Hardy for Hermes, but that seems like too direct a connection

I love it. I’m thinking Pascuale Brui is Zimmerman flirting and fun .

Dior is such a lady I’m thinking maybe Briony Raymond bespoke pieces. I stalk her pages daily lol.
