If George Clooney can carry 1k lb in his Keepall, can I carry my laptop in a Speedy?

Doing a little back of the napkin math, I think a Keepall 50 could accommodate about 35 bricks of gold (6" x 3" x 2"). A brick of gold weighs about 27 lbs. So, in the movie "Three Kings," it appears that the GIs are carrying about 1,000 lbs of gold in their getaway luggage.

If my math is correct, I should be worried about the torn off arms of the men, but no--my interest lies in the handles of those poor LVs!

I've heard that a Neverfull has a weight limit of 200 or 250 lbs. Somewhere in YouTube land, they put a small woman inside of one. But now where else have I ever found reference to the weight limits of other LV bags.

Not that I'm planning to rob a bank or anything, but I am curious. Either on a YouTube or here on tPF, someone made reference to carrying her laptop in her large Speedy (35 or 40) and commenting that the rivets popped out.

This question is partly practical (maybe I might someday want to buy a Speedy 35 or 40 to carry my ridiculously heavy Dell in), and partly curious. LVs are made for travel, it seems like we could find weight limits.

Ideas, anyone?

Oh those bulky PC laptops :D
On the serious note, Vuitton bags can carry some serious weight. The Neverfull was really tested for 80-90 kgs. The canvas (PVC) is strong, the leather is real cowhide, naturally strong, and the polyester thread that they are using is practically the most durable of the 3 components. I wouldn't be afraid of the Speedy not being able to handle the weight, but since its shape is not designed for laptops, the edges of the Dell might poke the canvas. Not making a hole or anything, but deform it over time.

Hahahaha!!! You are not kidding about the thread. I have a 40ish year old Keepall 50 B. The strap is old and kind of rotten, I guess. It has ripped in two separate places at the buckle holes. Each time, I didn't even notice that it was broken. The weight of the bag is held by 2 threads. Each time, I just moved to the next hole. Eventually, I will need to replace the strap, but I might replace the whole bag with a 35 or 40 Speedy.

If I do carry the PC, I would probably put it in vertically for short transports. An epi might be a better choice for this.

My Apple fits in everything.

I did pop a rivet once, but I was using my bag off label. I had a Mini HL and I added a strap and wore it to a festival. It was too much for the little gal.
