I posted a thread about upgrading my ring and I decided to keep mine as it’s a better cut and slightly better clarity but now I’m looking to change it from a solitaire into a halo and I’m not sure which design to go for.

I’d love to get opinions or if anyone has any ideas please share them :)

I definitely want a halo but not sure if I should have diamonds on the sides or keep it plain.

I think halo diamond rings are very classic and the diamonds surrounding the center diamond can make the piece look more substantial.

However, are you okay with that potentially covering/overlapping on top of your diamond eternity bands?

I never thought about that, I think the jeweller is going to get a few samples for me to try so hopefully I can see what it will look like. I’ve never liked the setting and always planned on changing it but the problem is, there’s too many designs to choose from:confused1:

Yes, definitely try on samples and take photos, especially if you want some time to think about it and compare later.

It can be a bit overwhelming, many of them are very pretty! But if you're not in a hurry, take your time and you'll know what makes your heart sing!

I reset my diamond in a rose gold halo with diamonds on the side and went with a plain rose gold thin band. That way, I got a flash of diamonds cooled down with a plain thin band. You could also go the opposite way with a halo setting with no diamonds on the side with a diamond wedding band in whatever gold or platinum setting of your choice.

Whatever style you decide, I’d recommend going custom for a halo if you want a seamless, high end look. Putting a diamond is a stock setting often results in odd gaps, airlines etc. And you might be surprised how affordable going custom can be. I’m sure there are others, but David Klass Jewelry in LA is who I use and recommend. He is very reputable with reasonable prices. You can find him on IG and FB. The process is very easy (you can even request a pre-paid shipping label) and he stands by his work. Good luck!

Oh yes it was going to be custom, the jeweller is just bringing some samples that they use to get an idea of what sort of design I want, I think the samples are in silver and cubic zirconias and then once you decide what sort of things you want they design it for you. I’m in the UK :)
