yikes....I notice the same on the zipper pulls of my new bumbag....the plastic wrap is shrink-wrapped on and you really need scissors. For ages LV used the blue plastic film around the hardware which could be easily removed.

So i made a trip down to LV the very next day and had it replaced with another bag accessory of a diffferent model:
It’s all good now. The SA was worried that I might have been too rough or something so she helped me remove the protective layer of the replacement accessory I got
