Hi ladies! I am dying for a pair of daffodiles but my DBF tells me they look like stripper heels!! He google-imaged "stripped shoes" and behold...there were a bunch of heels with the silhouette of or very similar to daffodiles.

Has anybody else gotten the same response? Do you ever feel self-conscious because they are so huge?

There will always be prejudices about shoes... some said that red patent shoes are for hooker! Honestly I don't care because I love my red patent shoes and when I wear them I dn't feel like a H...
Most of the time stripper shoes are in plastic...so don't worry they are not the same, no doubt about it!

The more important is if you love them, wear them in confidence and you will receive a lot of compliments. I love my Daffodile, I haven't wear them much unfortunately but each time I got compliments and a lot of positive attention.
If you love them go for them, DBF will adapt. After all "happy wife, happy life no ?" :)
My DH used to hate my spikes shoes but now he seems to get used to it. He likes the Daffodile even if he is on the conservative side because he sees that I enjoy wearing them ;)

I do think that Daffodil is really sexy and provocative shoe but in a good and sophisticated way.
So if you feel like you need this shoe in your life and can feel confident in it — I'd say go on and jump on it!

I truly believe it's all in how you carry the shoes. If you're constantly worried that others are thinking they look like "stripper heels" or too big, etc., then you won't be carrying them with confidence. If you love them and wear them with confidence, everything else will fall into place.

I agree with GCG, you shouldn't care what others think or say.

I think it all comes down to opinion and you just have to block it out. My mum hates the Lady daff because she thinks "stripper dressed up as catholic schoolgirl" but she loves the daffodile! Some people will probably think OMG she looks like a stripper! But, do you really care?? I think everyone recognises the Daff as the biggest celeb shoe of the last year so believe me, the general public know they are not stripper shoes and are probably just gonna be jealous - "how in the heck is the b***h wearing the same shoes as Kim K?!"

This! I don't think i could carry it off but i do think it looks beautiful on many tPFers. (Like Sophe!)

Some people think any heel wit' a certain height is a skrippa heel.... when I first saw a pic of Daffodile.... I thought of an extremely high platform.... because it was released when the 70's were the trend on the runway.... I agree wit' GCGDanielle... it's all about how you carry the shoe.... I have seen them paired wit' classy and tasteful outfits and they worked....

it's all in how you wear it. if you're wearing a leather corset and a patent leather mini skirt up to your bum, perhaps... if you're wearing a sexy but tasteful dress... no.

ITA!!

As you can see, I got on the Daff bandwagon early on. If DH said he didn't like them, I would get them anyway if I wanted them badly enough. There are plenty of places for me to wear and enjoy them. I never ever regretted getting them and now have my sights set on some suede.

But seriously, how do you guys walk in a pair of Daffs? I really wish someone would make a video of it. I've tried them on & they're so heavy. I could only stand in them.
