I wear mine (black 29cm) everyday and keep my phone in the front pocket. Apart from my train ticket, that's all I keep in the front pocket. I quite like how because it's unlined the suede grips it a little bit. I keep a pouch in the main compartment (Loewe) and my change purse, cardholder, lip balm, nail-file etc zipped in the pouch.

Have you considered any vintage Coach bags? Many have exterior pockets. Their British tan leather is very Mulberry-like. And you can find some very nice ones for under $100 on ebay, or even less.

I like the Willis, which comes in different sizes. The Rambler and City bag are also nice. Coach has reissued the styles from time to time and the reissued versions are very nice.
