i totally get it...... heavy bags kills me too but i think the bag is not that heavy on its own, how do you normally carry it? i find the bag at its heaviest when i have to carry it by the shoulders and thus i like to use the long strap. but when there are too many stuff in the bag and when you wear it by the long strap, it tends to hit against your body and the weight of the bag keeps dragging your top off one shoulder 
if you really need to take so many stuff out, a huge tote bag may really be the answer
