OMG.....my gorgeous large double braided grommet with the tassle, in the bright yellow color, got color transfer from black shirt....so, I used baby wipes, which are supposed to work on good leather. The baby wipes did not work and just stained it darker! Then, I logged onto the LovinMyBags.com website that I first heard of in tPF, and it said do not use baby wipes on untreated leather (i.e., leather that gets water stains). Is Kors leather untreated? did I fatally hurt my baby?

has this ever happened to any of your MK babies? waaaaahhhh :crybaby:

OMG I'm so sorry, that sucks!!!

I posted something a while back about when I was at the MK store and someone had brought in a bag that was somehow damaged a bit. From what I overheard, the SA tried the MK leather cleaner on the bag and made it a lot worse than it was when the lady brought it in. It looks like cleaner does not work well on MK bags - not even their own! :amazed:

I wish I had some advice for you.

Sorry about your bag...Maybe try a leather cleaner...it doesn't sound like it could get much worst...or if there's a shoe repair in your area they may have a recommendation.

I think baby wipes work better if you have used a leather protector on the bag to protect it from water marks and stuff.

Good luck!

OMG that is horrible!!!! Did you pre-treat the bag with MK's rain and stain guard? This is why I never purchased leather bags until recently....I was always concerned about color transfer, etc....I do remember someone using a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser to get out color transfer....I hope you can fix it! Good luck :)

Crissy, Lov2, and Mrs. Mac--did not pretreat - just thought that such a fine leather wouldn't have a problem. My Chanel white caviar blue jean transfer came out - so I thought my MK would too. Actually, she did get a bit better..but I will still carry her and love her anyway....poor baby....:p

I would do the same!!!!! and besides....someone once told me that only WE know there is color transfer on the BACK of our bags! Just be sure to use that side as the back of the bag always facing toward your body so if you ever get any color transfer again, it is not visible....only to you!!!! Congrats on such a gorgeous bag!!! I own the smaller one in luggage color!!!! LOVE the braiding detail!

ty Mrs Mac and everyone else..I rubbed and rubbed with baby wipes, and its much better altho not gone. I am not bothered by it anymore....You are right, MsMac... the bag is gorgeous....Decided I am not going to torture myself that the bag isnt perfect...I'm far from perfect, so my baby can be too! lolol :p

^ You might want to spray it with protector now that the stain is mostly gone so that hopefully if anything happens again in terms of color transfer or spills it might come off more easily. I use Wilson's leather protector on everything and it has never changed the color of anything (permanently - it does get darker as it gets sprayed and then dries to its original color).

That's just about the healthiest attitude I've ever heard regarding a purse. Maybe think of it like getting the first ding on your car - first you are horrified, but then you accept it and settle in and relax a little. :D
