Do you remember that God-awful Michael Bolton song from the 90s? Well, it inspired the title of this thread because I've been in a bit of a pickle lately with a purchase I recently made, and want to see if others have been in the same situation.

Have you ever fallen in love with a purse, bought said purse, loved said purse, but just couldn't make said purse work for you?

I recently repurchased the Pochette Metis in empreinte leather and the problem is not that I don't love her, but that she just doesn't love me back. I just don't find she looks good on me...so I guess the song title of this thread is more about her singing to me, rather than me singing to her.

I'm so hurt. I never knew a purse could do this to me.

What color ? :D

I've tried to buy the Pochette Metis so many times and came the closest with the empriente dove color but it doesn't work for me. Too boxy and the flap and closure are not my favorite silhouette and style. But I LOVE it on other people and it always looks cool and classic. Just feels awkward on me.

Yes! I love the alma bb. It’s a beautiful, classic purse. I’ve bought it twice and sold it twice because it just doesn’t work for me. I still admire it on others. If the PM doesn’t work for you I’d echo the others who are saying sell it. There’s lots of other bags out there!

I contemplated the PM, then finally tried it on at a store, and it was an immediate no. I have hips and boobs so it's not a bag that works well on me I felt, at least as a crossbody. I'm sorry it's not a love match!
Your comment made me laugh. I'm also a curvy gal but still loved the PM. Will wear it more shoulder than crossbody though as the boobs do get in the way

I had some “love troubles” with a whole Noe line. Loved the look of it and wanted it for a very long time . Over the years I have purchased and returned a number of Noes. First I bought Noe BB in Mono - loved it on others but wasn’t really that “in love” with it when I got it, so it got returned. Didn’t give up and a year or so later I bought a NeoNoe Mono & Noir, but returned it the very next day since it felt...flimsy to me (for the lack of a better word) compared to the classic Noe line. Then some time later my lovely SA has managed to locate a Noe Petite for me (and they have been scarce these days) but I found the bottom was too wide for my liking. I ended up contemplating a purchase of an Epi Noe (gorgeous bag), but was worried it felt too rigid.[Honestly, at that point it felt like Goldilocks had nothing on me :wtf:]. Finally, this Mother’s Day I was surprised with Empreinte NeoNoe in Noir and ,at last, I couldn’t find anything to “complain” about. I lied to all the other Noes, but Empreinte NeoNoe turned out to be my “true love” .

Just a thought, but I find that sometimes a small thing can change the whole vibe (if it makes sense). I use an XL reverse mono bandolier strap with my PM empreinte noir and it feels less...”boring“ ( maybe?), it sits at a right height and the strap feels more proportional to the purse itself. I find at times you need to add that “ooomph“ effect to make it work. And sometimes you don’t - if you feel that the piece is not for you just let go and move on .
