Hi there!
My best friend found this dark green vintage gucci-bag online. She couldn´t resist althougt it was in a horrific scratched condition but the style of the bag was unique and the price very, very low.
I am the tinkerer in our frindship so I promised a little bit too loud that I would try to soften the scratches - without any experience *eyeroll* :D.
I researched online for a matching colour with a lot of pigments and some leatherwax and...just startet.
It was a lot of work because i used a gel-eyeliner-brush around the light embroidery/sewing, but apart from that it was pretty easy to do.

I´m so happy and a little bit proud too :D

What I used:
Some layers "TRG the One" and some "Protexol Bufalo" for finish.
Splitted straps etc. I glued with the professional leather glue "kövufix".

Thank you all :)!!!

WOW! Amazing job!! What did you do with the edges and seams that were worn?

I inserted the köfufix with a needle, squeezed it with some pegs and smoothed it out and coloured it.
The Köfufix stays flexible when dried. It´s used by shoemakers. If this would not have looked ok enough I would have tried a product called liqid leather. That´s something to bring the big guns in - it´s used to fill massive holes and deep scratches in leatherseats etc. and I think it´s more complicated to do because one has to go step by step throug tasks in set form.

wow amazing work! how long did this take you?

Overall perhaps 3 hours. I left it dry over night from time to time.

Magic! It is incredible that a bag can be revived like this. Beautiful work and bag!

Also when I see pics like these here, I so regret selling my old Mulberry (so old I don't think it had a real name but was referred to as the trout bag?) just because the corners were slightly worn. Slightly! :crybaby: I had no idea bags could be revived like this until I started reading on tPF in earnest.
