I need help remember the name of a stone

I saw this gorgeous ring last time I was in New Orleans. The stone was almost like a quartz, and it had a very, very subtle blueish tint to it. I asked the store owner what it was, and I can't for the life of me remember what he told me. I'm pretty sure it started with an "m" and was a fairly long word, but it was definitely something I'd never heard of before. I'm hoping someone on here is really knowledgeable about stones and can help me out.

I really want it as my engagement ring when the time comes, but I need to know what it is in order to drop the necessary hints to the right people.

If it is peachy pink i would guess Morganite. Bluish tint, hmm.. Moonstone?

Pale blue clear quartz like? Aquamarine, fits this description. Was the stone clear or opaque?

It might have been morganite. I'm pretty sure it ended in an "ite." And it definitely wasn't moonstone or aquamarine.

Maybe it was a blue Tourmaline? It is also called indicolite? Is the stone you are trying to remember an opaque, solid colour or clear?

It may actually have been tourmaline. It was kind of opaque. Not a solid color but definitely not clear.

hmm... it is really difficult to guess if you cannot remember what letter the name starts with. Morganite does not have a bluish tint. Indicolite is blue, not just a tint of blue..

From your description that it is not clear, not opaque.. I can only think it is a moonstone cabochon.
