Michael Kors I need help on my first new MK!!!

I am new to MK except for the coated canvas tote I have that I purchased off of eBay last year. I am currently wanting something in a brighter color either in raspberry or in pear. The problem is I do not know what I want in terms of the style. I am torn between wanting a small tote and a satchel but I need something with pockets and some organization. I also really love the Riley(medium) but it currently does not come in any colors that I like with silver hardware. Also I pretty much wear either black or white all the time for both of my jobs and don't ever wear jeans not even on my days off. Any ideas of on what I should get? I am working on getting rid of most of what I have but I currently have three cross body bags a 5 zip RM MAC, Tumi nylon black cross body and Coach small Brooklyn in purple.

I prefer soft but I am not that picky.

Crossbody or shoulder are preferred.

I love the Sutton but it feels to structured for me.

I like either, pink, bright green, purple or black.

You should check out the Selma. It may be more structured than you're used to but it comes in a variety of sizes & colors. You can get a medium that can be worn crossbody or with shoulder straps. They also have the Selma in a messenger that is only crossbody. Macy's had th in a variety of colors too. I love the pear color!

Or you can look at the Hamilton traveler messenger bag. It comes in a variety of colors, soft leather, and can be worn just like the Selma messenger

Yes the Hamilton traveler with soft leather is beautiful!!! They have it in black.

Or what about the new jet set top zip tote?!

Do you have a Macy's or MK store close by to try on bags and see them in person? I find that usually helps narrow down my choices!

I have both the Traveler and multiple Selmas. The Selma was my first bag, so I may be a bit biased to go that route. I really thought the Selma was a good way to get into MK because the leather is really durable and comes in a variety of colors. Macy's has the pear on sale right now, & it's so beautiful in person.

I like my Traveler, but I've had issues with the leather being really easily scuffed so that might be something to consider. I know a lot of people haven't had any issues with the leather either. If you go with a black or darker color, marks probably won't show up too easily. However, I had the Optic White, and there's a few black scuffs and scratches on my leather after only wearing it for about two months. It's a beautiful bag, but I think it lacks some durability.

It sounds like you like softer leather over saffiano leather and want something that can be worn on the shoulder or cross-body and is not a structured satchel. I think you'd really like the Riley. It comes in more colors than you think. Also take a look at the Camden shoulder bag and the Bedford shoulder bag. The Camden is a soft, comfortable shoulder bag and the Bedford can be worn both as a cross-body bag and a shoulder bag. I would also point you in the direction of the Miranda tote, but it's an MK Collection bag that is a lot more pricey than the others.

In answer to your original question stating you are looking for something nice in rasberry or pear, preferably in soft leather with lots of pockets and silver hardware. is what I just bought exactly!! the MK TRISTAN.!! It has a great outer pocket on the back for your cell, etc, and lots of pockets inside, including a zipper compartment. It also has the SILVER hardware you said you prefer! It also comes with an adjustable crossbody strap that has pretty, silver chain links on them A couple of us have bought the Tristan lately and we just LOVE it! I think it may be just what you are looking for, from your description!

Here are some pics. There are several of them for sale brand new on ebay. They run between 250 and 275. They originally retailed for 398.00! As far as something in pear, I have only seen Saffiano bags come in pear. Most of them don't have any outer pockets on them. If you like organization with extra compartments like me, this Tristan is fantastic! I get so many compliments on it every time I take it out.

Also, the BROOKVILLE bag is gorgeous! They have them on ebay as well. You can do a search on ebay, as I have seen them in the rasberry aka 'fucshia; The only reason I didn't get the Brookville is because there was no outer pocket on it. I like those extra pockets on the outside. It does have a large center divider zipper compartment which gives you three large sections plus 3 smaller compartments as well.

I love the contrast white stitching on this bag, which you don't see often on Michael Kors bags.

If you want something smaller in rasberry with the silver hardware and soft leather, there is this MK JULES Cross Body Tote, but it doesn't have as many compartments as the Tristan or Brookville. It is basically a bucket / tote. Still a very pretty, smaller bag if the others seem too large.

I am not aware of anything in pear that has soft leather or silver hardware. Most of them are the stiff / structured saffiano bags and they
usually come with the gold and not many compartments.

This MK Jet Set East West Tote might be something you would like. It has the silver hardware, in saffiano leather, but look at those two great outer pockets on the sides! lol! I have considered getting this in luggage brown. I just might. I always have a heck of a time finding bags with silver hardware. Most of them are in gold.

It does have silver hardware and I will do a reveal once I get her in the next week or so.
