I need a bag for my wedding. Any ideas? What did you do?

I'm eloping, so we won't have any bridesmaids, and we are possibly going to be outdoors, so there's nowhere to put it out of the way for photos (I assume). I have a small Coach coin purse for my lipstick and credit card, but I would also like to carry my Instax camera and a spare pair of flats on the day. (I haven't decided if I'll be bringing the champagne with me yet!) However, I don't want to look like Sophia Petrillo on all the photos! What would you recommend doing?

If it helps, my dress is off-white and vintage style, and I will have a pink petticoat underneath. I did look at a small bag that was pink and white this morning (it was in TK Maxx so can't show you a photo) but the gold clips on each side of the handle would throw off the vintage look. I've looked at vintage bags, but they are all either too small or too big. I was thinking maybe a small box bag or similar, but it's hard to find brides with purses!

When I got married (for a minute ) ohhhhhhh nearly two decades ago, it was the usual thing to carry a drawstring “money purse” during the reception, ostensibly to tuck away checks or cash that people give you. Mostly it was to hold a lipstick and my boxy Nokia. Depending on the size of the flats and if you want the heels to go inside when it’s time for the flats, you could use one in the standard size or make/have one made a little larger. Here are a couple of cute ones that might go with a vintage 50’s look. If you wanted to search, lace drawstring bag vintage, are good keywords.

Dividing it up so as not to be messy, the other nice option would be something like a smallish Chanel bag, with a laced chain strap that could be crossbody or shoulder. That has a nice 50’s look. Try Poshmark and search “quilted bag” in the color you’d like. Here’s one that looks cute to me, but there are lots of options on there. This type of bag is also pretty easy to find if you wanted to shop in person.23372E21-7D8C-4DE4-9676-B91F64C96BC9.png

I'm a huge fan of Etsy for moderately-priced, vintage or vintage-style items. You can search for something like bride purse and add in keywords to look for items that will coordinate with your dress. Best wishes!

Thanks for the tips! I've been looking on Etsy for ages but there's just so much on there.

My flats unfortunately are quite large, as I take a EUR 42 and they don't make folding flats in my size. I was thinking about bringing a pair of little white brogues with me, just in case, as I'll be doing a bit of walking that day.

Here is helpful information about 1950s handbag styles:

Seems you have several choices. To work with vintage theme & carry needs.

I know nothing of this etsy seller.
But she seems to make handbags in vintage style. Possibly could do custom size/colors?
Each seems to come with dust bag, which could hold your shoes. Then store in car or out of photos. As you hold clutch.
This clutch has pink details:
