i've got my sad-looking, little louie pouchette sitting here with me ...and he's super-dirty & in need of some TLC...he's the graffiti style & i'm wondering if you girls suggest "apple garde"?

the apple garde would be to protect the bag in the first place from any stains, water marks etc. i think to clean it, you could try the apple care leather cleaner.
