first, that much of been terrible to have everything happening at the same time. sorry about your father. you deffinately deserve a new bag or chocolate or both!! i think when something important happens you should get a new bag. (like if you get a new house or soemthing, you get a bag. if you broke your leg and now it's all better you get a bag. it's kinda an excuse to get a new bag but that's okay)lol

p.s hope you're granddaughter's pink eye is gone

god lets face it winter is like public school (for you non brits, high school) no one comes out unscathed, and the womb tends to have nothing to do with the victim, pot luck or some karma crap. i say good luck and bring on summer... ahh warm deck chairs and bare feet!
