Yesterday my family and I were in the mall and my husband asked if I wanted to visited the MK boutique. Even though I did not want to go in ( I am happy with bags I currently have) the family talked me into just peaking. I went in with the mindset of no I don't want anything , I know my husband wanted to get me something. Immediately upon entering the sales associate pounced. She saw the MK bag that I was carrying and said "I like your bag." Im like thank you beaming (a girl loves when people notices the bag, lol). Then she continues "its like from a year or two ago right." She said this with a straight face (LOL). I was like yup sure is, a year ago. She then became very clingy following us around and interrupting our conversation. We left. I find it really funny (I'm serious, I could not stop laughing and still am) that she thought she would sale me a bag by letting me know I had last years bag, umm duh I know. It was a Birthday gift from the Hubby last year on my birthday so for me I had only had the bag for a year, to the day!

Just thought I would share.

I know that complementing the customer on something is a typical sales tactic (happens to me every time I walk into a store and a sales person takes notice of me), but it annoys me to no end. I always want to ask, "Do you really think I'm so stupid as to fall for that line, especially when I hear it over and over in practically every store?" Another pet peeve of mine is the customer service rep telling me they love my item when it's the same brand they sell. Of course you "love" my MK or whatever, you work for them at the moment! I take it with a grain of salt. If they're too clingy, I leave. I'll let you know if I need your assistance, don't up haunt me.

I have noticed in my MK store that the SAs are either real clingy or ignore you altogether. I recently was in there by myself (no other customers) buying the Dark Pink Sutton and paying full price for it, and had to ask for help. The thing that killed me is that I was there the night before at closing and said I would return with my fuchsia Selma when they opened in the morning because I wanted to see if the colors differed enough to justify the spend. The same SA was there in the morning and could have made an easy sale if she bothered to recognize me from the night before. I also found they are not very knowledgeable at all, will not try and track a bag down for you at another store or anything. I guess I am used to more of a VIP treatment at Coach. And even when I go in Coach and none of the SAs know me, I notice they give you room to breathe and browse. Wonder if the SAs at MK work on commission?

This is one of the reasons I hate going into the MK outlet here. I window shop, and don't usually go in unless I spot something I really want to see up close. Because once you get in there, whoo-wee, they just don't let up, a SA will zoom up to you and pretty much follow you around the whole store, making comments the whole time.
