I got rid of a lot some really crappy old things, but kept some things that I didn't think he was giving a fair price on.

However, what I thought was odd is this. The "hostess", my neighbor, grabbed my old wedding ring and wanted to buy it. I thought that was weird.

I didn't sell it because I thought she would buy it from the gold buyer person and well... it's my ring.

Would you had sold your old wedding ring to your neighbor?

I'm confused about what happened. You went to a tupperware party and your neighbor wanted to buy your old wedding ring ? Were you wearing it ? what do you mwan she would buy it from the gold buyer ?

My neighbor was having a "gold sale" party. It's where you bring your old gold and some guy shows up weighs it and gives you a check for your gold.

I was pulling out my baggie of gold and she saw my old wedding ring, tried it on and wanted to buy it from me. I thought that was strange.

well because the man that was there to buy our gold was going to melt it down and then my ring would no longer exist, but to have my neighbor wearing my ring.. well I would see my failed marriage sitting on her finger everyday.

in your original post you didn't say anything about being divorced, I actually assumed it was just an old gold band or something you just no longer wear.
I still don't think it's weird SHE wanted it, but I think it's normal if it would make you feel funny about it, now that you shared a little more info w/ us,

I agree with this. I could see that it would make you feel a little weird to see the ring on her but you were there to sell the ring so I don't see a problem with her asking to buy it.

oh I see. Sorry ! I can see why you would just want it melted down, kind of like closure or cleansing and getting some extra cash on the side while you are at it !
