Hey girls! ok, so i inherited a beautiful ring. it is over 100 years old and to be honest it is in pretty rough shape. it is 14 K gold and it has a purple amythest with 2 little diamonds on the sides. i am almost 100% sure the stones are genuine.

the stones have like green grime around them from being so old and not being worn for a while so it is in a big need of a good and proper cleaning. i also want to have it resized to fit my ring finger and probably have the stones reset to make sure they are nice and secure. what should i expect to pay?? i have no idea. i know jewelers vary, but what is a rough estimate?

TIA <3

Most reputable jewelers will give you an estimate on any work you want done before
going ahead so take your ring in and them take a look and give you a price.

I pay about $20 to size one size up/down. $40 to size two sizes up/down, etc. I don't think it costs much at all to have jeweler secure the prongs. They would also clean your ring for you, usually no charge.
