I couldn't believe what I was hearing- Repair Story

I went to the South Coast LV today because my 3 month old speedy's zipper broke and wouldn't zip all the way. The lovely CS on the '800' number told me I didn't need a receipt because of the date code on the bag (I brought it anyways).

So I go to a SA and ask them about my speedy. I showed them and you could clearly see the zipper teeth/track was broken. She went to go talk to her repair specialist and they gave me two options... Take the broken 'zipper tooth' out leaving a GAP, or I can pay for a new zipper!! I couldn't believe what I saw hearing. I politely told her 'why would I want a gap in my purse?! Its 3 months old??!' I told her, I had a receipt and she told me 'oh that changes things'... Ok....

So after 30 mins the repair specialist comes out and tells me the same thing the SA told me. The store was packed and I didn't want to make a scene, but I did LOL. I wasn't asking for a replacement bag, just to fix the damn thing!!!

So after back and forth she took the bag and fixed it for free. It left such a bad taste in my mouth, I was going to buy an DE Eva today but you know... I didn't want to give them any of my business!

I hope other people haven't had my experience, and if you ever do... Don't give up! I have had such great experiences at boutiques, and this was just so depressing. I'm happy my Speedy is fixed but good lord!

I am so glad the store fixed the zipper for free. It's sad that sometimes we have to create a scene to get good service, especially when it is not our personality.

Exactly! I don't like being assertive, it should be a fun experience! But very happy after 1 hour it got fixed

I wanted to let people know not to give up, (and I just re-read this and it sounds like a rant... So I apologize!)

Ugh! Hearing these stories make me never want to go to the South Coast LV (the free standing one, right?).

Yes it was. I heard not so nice experiences from that boutique before. I won't go there again, i'll trek it to LA if I have to get anything repaired. I wish the LV at Crystals in Las Vegas was an option lol! My favorite one

Oh what an ordeal you had to go through! :hugs:

Glad you got it fixed for free! I could understand paying for the zipper if it was over a year old...but three months?! Crazy. How much is a replacement zipper?

I think the SA you talked to has no idea what she was doing. She suggested "Take the broken 'zipper tooth' out leaving a GAP"? That's just :lolots: The SAs at South Coast change quite often. I'd just go straight to a manager for these kind of quality problems in the future.

I believe the little repair station at South Coast is also where they do the hot stamping. I'd assume they will do the hot stamping for new customer first. So I'm glad you got the repair done quickly during a busy day.

I go to the one in Bloomingdales. So bummed they can't do a lot of things, like mon monogram.

I'd be afraid to take my repairs to the stand alone boutique just because of the crap I've heard them try to pull.

A gap in the zipper? Wtf. How is that even acceptable?
