1. When you have so many bags, you can't possibly wear all of them!
2. When there are bags in your closet you don't remember, or bags you haven't thought about or worn in a year.
3. When you can no longer afford it.
Love this answer. Dead on. Any of these answers say STOP! I’ll add “afford” means any debt for the bags and / or any other priorities skipped to pay for a bag - including savings.

Probably doesn’t help your question, but why is it that we, mostly females, feel guilty spending on material goods? So what if these things make us happy, even momentarily? Especially if we earn them with our hard work through our successful career? I rarely hear guys feeling guilty about indulging in their hobbies, golfs, boats, custom work on their car etc and those things are astronomical compare to the price of a bag.

I don't think it's how many you have. Nothing to do with numbers at all. Addiction is more about never having enough and/or never being satisfied.

Someone can have 1, 10 or 100 bags and feel great about what they have, but if someone goes from euphoria to disappointment very quickly and start looking for another bag almost immediately, a pattern that repeats many times, it's def a sign something's wrong.

I think the family dynamic was such that men were the breadwinners back in the day; now that many women are in the workforce, the mindset still persists. Especially for the conservative folks, the ladies' purchases raise eyebrows way more than guys' ever would! It's like "how dare you spend $$ on yourself", like anything they buy are frivolous. Ridiculous to say the least!

I think I have about 17 beautiful bags now. Cheapest being Longchamp Le Pliage and the most expensive, an Hermes Evelyne, and then just about everything else in between. Some years I only buy one bag and others I'll buy a few. I never get in debt and I love each and every one! It also makes me smile when I count in my head how many I have and if I forget one, I enjoy it when I remember it (hope that makes sense). I would love to say I'm satisfied with my collection, but all the while I can afford a new bag, then I'll never say never. Now if for any reason I couldn't afford to buy anymore, then I have amassed enough to keep me happy.

I love bags, what can I say!!

This is how I feel as well. I have about 15. I love them all and they’re all very unique, but if I had to list them all, I might forget one or two without being able to look.
