I would love to see and hear about your acquisition of your wood jewelry! What bangles, beads, earrings, necklaces, etc do you have?

Here's my bangle to get us started.

This is bangle made of KOA which is an indigenous hard wood in Hawaii known for its chatoyancy (the cat's eye reflective effect). Koa is an amazing wood. I usually pair it with my jade. Somewhere in my parents house is a koa bangle I shaped, sanded, and sealed myself in wood shop in middle school. lol

Gorgeous bangle and looks perfect with your jade.

Here are my two wood bracelets and a petrified wood bangle that I wear with my jade. I'm not sure what kind of wood the bracelets are, they were gifts.

Thank you for starting this thread Junkenpo, love wood jewellery but know very little. Your KOA bracelet looks lovely the wood has a beautiful grain. piosavsfan yoir bracelets as very interesting and love your petrified wood bracelet.

Here is a piece I picked up last summer in an antique show. The dealer knew nothing but I think it may be Scandinavian teak w/ amber.

Unfortunately I washed it as soon as It got home and took the finish off the wood. But I still love it and will try to find a way reapply a finish.

Yay! Love how gorgeous everyone's jewelry is!

That petrified wood bangle is so neat, lovely colors. I like the wood beads a lot, too, especially the one with the worry beads.

We are in Maui now and are interested in Koa wood rings. Any shop recommendations would be appreciated! Thanks!

Off the top of my head, Martin MacArthur and Na Hoku carry Koa jewelry, but you can also find crafters who make their own at the craft fairs and swap meets around the island. Happy Hunting!

Oooh! I like the wood and amber together, dreamy combo! Be sure and post the results of the refinishing.

Koa is beautiful! I got a thin Koa bracelet and a thin mango wood bracelet when I was visiting Hawaii. I wish I had gotten the wider bracelets!

I love koa. I've seen mango wood bowls and boxes, but not a bangle before. Please consider posting pics (and wrist shots!) of your bangles please.:D
