I love cotton sateen sheets cos they are sooooo smooth yet one does not roll off the bed as in the case of silk sheets. I agree with the poster on using baby laundry detergent cos it cld also be the chemicals in the detergent that cause you the irritation. Why not try the detergent before embarking to buy new sheets since detergent wld be much cheaper than sheets so if that does the trick, then there is no need to spend money on new sheets.

The best sheets (IMO) are from Bed bath and beyond. They're called pure beech and they're like silky tee shirt sheets. Super comfy in summer and winter and not too spendy. I have 2 or 3 sets that I rotate now and have had a few more in the past. Definately check them out!

Do these feel breathable despite being modal? My DH tends to be sweaty. :P

If you are after really soft sheets that help with skin conditions and sooth scratchiness, try buying a set of bamboo sheets. Bamboo yarn is a smooth fibre, unlike cotton which has barbs in the actual thread. This is what can make cotton catch and feel scratchy on the skin. If you happen to be in Australia, there is an online store that retails them. Just do a Google search for "Bamboo Sheets Australia" and you will find them or head here: http://bamboosheetsaustralia.com.au/shop/. If you are in the USA, I can highly recommend sheets from Cariloha http://www.cariloha.com/bed-bath/bedding.html. I hope this helps.
