About two months ago, I walked in and purchased a 30 birkin in gold. I know, I was very lucky.

While waiting for the bag to be boxed, I casually informed the SA that I am also interested in a 35 black. The SM who happened to be listening asked me to fill out a card with name and contact number. Does this mean I am on the "waiting list"?

Thanks in advance for all your help. This forum is very informative!

It probably means they will call you if/when they have one available. good luck!

Wow, did you ever luck out. I've never seen a Birkin on the shelf at Hermes.........Oh wait, I did see a Red Croc 35cm with Diamonds that was made especially for this particular Hermes store. It was unbelievable!:nuts::nuts:

One thing I have learned here is that the rules differ widely in various parts of the world. I have found it much easier to acquire birkins, kellys and other bags than some members in other areas. It sounds like you are on an informal wish list the store maintains. As HHunter has said, if one comes in and no one is ahead of you, they will likely call you. It wouldn't hurt to drop in and maintain a relationship with the SA. Good luck!

absolutely lililu -- those are wise words -- the relationship means a lot!!

Yes you are on the waiting list. In my local boutique they did the same thing to me. The SA gave me a piece of paper to fill in with information and then she wrote down my order on the same piece of paper.
