I accidentally scratched my new lambskin bag

Did you receive the Chanel buffing cloth when you purchased your bag? My only Chanel is a CCH in caviar, but when making my purchase, the SA noticed my Lady Dior (lambskin), and gave me extra buffing cloths, which she said would work wonders on the lambskin!

Leave it, and don't rub or buff it. You can barely see it.
The problem with rubbing or buffing is that you are actually taking of a very very thin layer of leather.
It blends in because you just rubbed off a fine layer to smoothen it out.
It's like when a manicurist "buffs" your nail. She is really removing a very fine layer of nail, except nails eventually grow back, but leather on bags do not. Any leather you rubbed off is lost.

For people who constantly buff or worse, use those Magic Erasers, they are just taking off leather.
Magic Erasers are nothing more than super fine sandpaper molded into a block.
Over time, if you rub/buff often, the leather will be thinner as you are rubbing off leather albeit it very fine layer each time.

I have a lot of lambskin, and I never fix any scratches.
Hence, if it were me, I would leave the bag alone. Your bag is gorgeous, and you can barely see that scratch without that big red circle in your photo. It just looks like a normal crease and blends in. Wear your bag, and if you get another scratch, it's not big deal. A worn bag is a well loved bag.
