Husband's Pants

I need to get my husband some Levi Dockers slacks. Should I get pleats or no pleats?

He is youthful 50's, in good physical shape.....sort of preppy dresser.

No pleats are really the best option for everyone. Pleated pants should be abolished.

well, i still don't know what your husband wants, but i just want to inform you that pleats are not dated, as they've shown up on the Givenchy, Lanvin, and Armani S/S 2010 menswear runways.

pleats can be very modern, depending on the placement, and number of pleats.

however, if you're going to go with docker's, their pleat placement is rather classic.

I don't like dockers with pleats, although I do agree with onederland that pleats are fashionable if done correctly.

There definitely are some designers who can do pleats well with the right fabric, but it takes the right style and right guy for it to look better than no pleats. With dockers, esp. if he's fit, no pleats for sure.

I don't care if pleats are back on the runway. In real life, pleats look dated and are flattering to practically no one.

I have to agree pleats look dated. Once you get to a certain age, it's time to reconsider the classics because they do add a lot of years. I would say go for a darker color with no pleats.
