How to take care of my new (vintage) lizard baby?

Hi everyone!

After years of bag collecting I decided it was time to get my very first Hermes bag!
I bought myself a stunning Kelly 32 in lizard leather
The bag is from ‘95 and has been to the Hermes spa last year. So, it’s in very good condition I would say, and I want to keep it like that for as long as possible!
It’s my first exotic bag as well, and I would love some tips on how to keep it looking great. I’m definitely buying a rain coat and an organiser for the interior, but how do I treat the lizard against drying out or other damage? Does anyone have recommendations on a product to use?

Anyway, here’s my beauty!
Btw, if anyone could give me an estimated worth on this bag or tell me what colour this is, I would love to know! I think I did a good deal but its always good to double check

Use Saphir Medaille d’Or Creme Renovateur to keep it nourished. I believe it’s the same cream H craftspeople use for lizard skins. But test the product on a small, hidden area first, like the bottom of the bag to know if it’s compatible with your bag. Also, don’t overdo it. Use it like you would apply face serum on your face. Less is more.

Great, thanks so much for the advice! I’ll see where I can find this cream!

I think this Lizzy is too precious to attempt yourself.

I would take it to H if and when it needs. Just keep all water away and store in an area where air can circulate, out of direct sunlight and no dampness.

Thanks for your advice! I usually take care of all my bags myself, i’ve also done some restoring and dyeing etc so I know a thing or two about leather. Just new to the exotics, but excited to learn more and pamper my Lizzy myself

If you want to DIY use "Saphir Reptan cuir reptile" on your lizard; lizard dries out easily and this liquidly cream makes lizard look wonderful.

Great! Someone else recommended Saphir Medaille d’or creme renovateur. I’m definitely ordering from this Saphir brand! I found a distributor shipping to my country, but they don’t have the exact one you or the other person recommended. I was thinking to buy this one:

Any thoughts? So I’d just lightly rub it on with a microfiber cloth and let dry, right?

Thanks again for the advice!
