Hello Everyone -

I bought my first LV bag back in May 2018 - DE Graceful MM, I was super-excited, but now I realize i don't use it much. Since then i've also bought a Favorite MM in DE and wear it almost everyday!

I'd like to sell my bag for a good price, its in excellent condition. What are the safest and most reliable ways to do this based on experience? I've seen FB groups about it, but it seems a little sketchy - i've heard people say that if PayPal is used, someone could claim its not authentic and get their money back AND keep the bag. I'm not even going to touch Craigslist....

I've seen websites like Rebag and Fashionphile.... has anyone has positive experience with them? i'd appreciate any methods that work well, and cautions on what to stay away from!

The LV Addicted Reetzy group on Facebook is your best bet. Very legit. Fashionphile is decent but they lowball you so much. You will get the most money for your bag with the Facebook group. I have sold two pieces there in the last week alone. They don’t take a percentage like websites do.
so with them, do they buy your bag from you, or do you give them the info and they post it - and you get paid when it sells?

You have to do the work. You take pics of your bag, create a post and add the info and pictures, and wait for someone to comment sold. They pay via PayPal. Then you ship it to them.

It’s full of LV lovers and experts. You have to include pics of the heat stamp and date code in your pics. If anyone tries to post a fake bag they are banned immediately.

Give it a looksie. More work but more money. Depends on what you prefer!

Cool Thanks! Got IT - i'm just totally nervous. its a basically new real bag, and i'd hate to get taken advantage of!

If you have anymore questions I can help you if you’d like. If you decide to join the group let me know and I will help you through it on Facebook messenger. I was nervous at first too but it was honestly so easy. Just read the group rules and look at some sale posts and you’ll get the hang of it.

I agree with selling to Fashionphile or Yoogi's since you say you want the safest and most reliable way to sell. Even though the Facebook pages can mean more money, that is only if you have a good buyer. Since you are selling to a stranger, that may not always be the case. I sold quite a few bags last year to Fashionphile and found their quotes to be reasonable. It was worth it to me to not have the potential hassle of selling to someone I don't know. If nothing else, I would get quotes from these two first before you decide to sell it on your own.

Poshmark. I’ve sold a few things I stopped using and they sell within 24 hours for me. I have never had a problem. I have compared my earnings to all the other sites listed here (except Facebook, I don’t have Facebook) but they will take 20% of whatever you list it for. The buyer has 3 days to accept your purchase, and then your earnings are instantly available for you to withdraw. The best part is they can’t return just because “they don’t like it, changed their mind.” There has to be a clear discrepancy between your description of the item and your photos. As long as your honest and give clear photos, you won’t have a problem and you’ll have your money within the next week! Some sites like Tradsey take over a MONTH to get your money to you- it’s terrible!!! Also you can negotiate the price with people who are interested. So if you list it at a little higher of a price, just know your best and final offer and you usually meet in the middle! Good luck!

Another vote for Fashionphile. I used to sell my bags on eBay, but it was such a hassle. Every now and then Yoogis will come in with a higher quote, but that's getting increasingly rare, in my experience.

I've used Fashionphile and eBay, but if and when I sell another bag I would probably use the Reetzy group on FB. Fashionphile has gotten very low with their offers - yes it is a super easy process, but I think they give you the lowest possible amount and I stalk that website enough to know that they are making a killing.

eBay takes a lot of commission too, but I like that I can control my pricing. The only thing with them is that I've had two cases where the buyers scammed me by making false claims to PayPal and eBay and since the companies mainly side with the buyers, they got to keep the bags and get a chargeback for them. As a seller, I did not lose the money because the companies ended up protecting me too, but these scammers are so prolific these days, that it really put a damper on my eBay experiences as a seller (I still buy there).

I second the Facebook group as I have sold a lot there, it’s quite easy just join and post pictures. I’ve never had any problems with people claiming from PayPal from the group.
