My engagement ring and wedding band is made of platinum. They no longer fit me and I need to have them resized (bigger). I've heard that platinum is difficult to deal with and leaves a mark if you resize the ring. Is this true?
Has anyone dealt with this and can provide some insight? What other options can I explore?

Go to a trusted independant jeweler who does their repairs on-site. It's not that big of a deal. It's a little pricey but a good jeweler won't leave your metal marked.

When my husband gave me my engagement ring (family heirloom) it was tiny - maybe a 4 or 5. We got it sized up to my size 9 sausage finger and you can't tell at all!

Thanks everyone. Looks like I need to find someone who has a lot of experience with platinum.

I'm thinking about getting the band resized first because its plain. The ering is the one I am worried because of its design.
