My nylon Cocoon tote (see attached) is pretty old and has accumulated a faint smell on its handles over the years. I brought it in at Chanel for repair and initially they offered to replace the handles - they got back to me recently and was informed that they are out of handle replacements for my tote as it is an old model.

For those of you who have encountered a similar problem, how did you get rid of unpleasant smell from your nylon or fabric Chanel bags?

I’ve tried to use wet baby wipes on it, sprayed perfume on it and even tried to “wash” it with soapy wet towel - to no avail.

Would love to hear your suggestions! Thank you.

You might try the freezer method? Which is about what it sounds like. Put the bag in a plastic bag (for a tote probably a garbage bag) and leave it in the freezer for a few days. The cold can kill a lot of scent.

Being that might not be practical for a large bag, you also could try an ozone generator. The one that I use is on Amazon https://amzn.to/3MiiQjG
You'd basically put it and the bag (still into a garbage bag 😂) and leave it for a few cycles. ozone does a great job to eliminate odor.
