how to put hold on money in paypal when paying?

hey there.. i need yr help..i am going to pay $450 for a bag thta i won. i am using paypal and not sure how to do put the moeny on hold while waiting for the bag to arrive...i look all over paypal but cant seem to find it or how ot do it..

in the past, buyers of my items always put a hold on money till thye receive it...

The buyers are not putting your money on hold as the seller, Paypal has done that.

You can't force a 21 day hold as the buyer. Paypal (at their discretion) decides to place the hold based on a seller's history.

Just like what others said, you can't put on hold to your payment as a buyer. Paypal does it if the seller has less than a certain # of feedbacks and the transaction is > $100, I think.

Paypal are strange though I sold two items recently one has a hold the other one doesnt.

No, I don't believe the buyer is informed of the hold, only the seller.

Is there a particular reason to worry about the seller?

i never bought anything so expensive from ebay before and thus worried... he only got 1 negative fedback...

I just had this problem where the seller accused me of refusing to pay because she hadn't sold anything in over 90 days. Of course I had no idea what she was talking about. So I called eBay and they said the seller is obligated to send the item regardless of the hold.
